Top 5 Reasons Why You Should Go Back and Watch Season 2 of The WalkingDead

The majority of fans would count season two of The Walking Dead as their least favorite. Why? It's boring. They're just sitting at Herschel's farm the whole time. NOTHING REALLY HAPPENS!! I'm here to prove you wrong.

Season two has three of the most impactful deaths of the entire series, it introduces us to some of the groups main characters, and concludes with with the group being ripped away from the "safe", "boring" farm and getting thrown back into the "real" world. So with that being said, here are my top five reasons season two is better than you remember.

5. Glimpses of Michonne
Michonne is introduced as Andrea's hooded savior after the farm gets over-run at the very end of the season. The katana wielding Michonne ends up being a council member, a constable, and one of the most important people in the Grimes' family lives.

4. The Greene Family
We're introduced to the Greene family when Otis shoots Carl in a hunting accident. The rest of the family includes, Hershel, Beth, Maggie, Patricia and Jimmy. The latter two never really had roles before their deaths but Hershel, Maggie and Beth are staples of the show for seasons to come.

3. The Death of Dale
All Carl had to do was shoot the damn walker, or at the very least, not lead it right back to camp. Dale having his stomach ripped open forces the group to rediscover their humanity. He is Rick's advisor and a father figure to most of the group. Daryl is forced to kill him. Dale's death comes an episode before Shane dies, making it one of the two biggest deaths, in back to back episodes, of the entire series.

2. Rick Kills Shane
Rick discovering the truth about his best friend, and being forced to fatally stab him, changed Rick and the entire group forever. Shane was the group's original leader and still a friend to some. More important though, the horde that destroys the farm was attracted by Carl's gunshot to the head of an undead Shane.

1. Sophia
Since the beginning of the season, finding Sophia has been the groups main priority. Her coming out of the barn as a walker, which they had been living next to the entire time, may still be the biggest heartbreak the group has ever gone through.

So there it is, my top 5 reasons why I think you should go back and re-watch season two of The Walking Dead. What do you think? Were the thirteen episodes on the farm a waste of a season or an underrated gem?
