Tuesday Top Ten: Top Movies of 2015

With so many great films on the horizon, I'm giving you my top movies of 2015. This isn't a list of future Oscar nominated films, but my personal list for the year as 2015 is looking to be a great year in movies.
10. Spectre
One of the later films this year, coming out November 6th, we see Daniel Craig returning as James Bond, along with Christopher Waltz, and Guardians of the Galaxy's Dave Bautista. Also returning from Skyfall (2012), Director Sam Mendes should provide another action packed Bond movie.

9. Hitman: Agent 47
Director Aleksander Bach's reboot of the genetically engineered assassin looks to be a big improvement over the previous installment. Starring Rupert Friend as 47 and Zachary Quinto. We won't be seeing this one until late summer as it's scheduled to be released August 28th.

8. Fantastic Four
I don't have the highest expectations for this one, but I'm really hoping it will be the surprise of the summer. Director Josh Trank will attempt to recreate the success of 2012's Chronicle and with a cast consisting of Michael B Jordan (Johnny), Miles Teller (Reed), and Kate Mara (Sue), Fantastic Four should have plenty of acting talent to accomplish just that.

7. Chappie
If Chappie is anything like DIrector Neill Blomkamp's District 9 (2009), I'm completely on board. This is the only movie on the list already released (March 6th). It received mixed ratings of 7.3/10 on IMDB and 31% on Rotten Tomato. Starring Hugh Jackman, Sigourney Weaver, and Sharlto Copley, you can expect to see a review on this one in the near future.

6. Jurassic World
Jurassic World takes place twenty-two years after the original Jurassic Park (1993) and shows a new and improved theme park, including Chris Pratt and his raptor squad. Directed by Colin Trevorrow, Jurassic World is set to release June 12th and should help kick off a great summer.

5. Terminator: Genysis
Arnold Schwarzanegger said he'd be back and he is not alone. The cast includes Jai Courtney (Reese), Jason Clarke (John), & Game of Throne's Emilia Clarke (Sarah). This one is really shaping up as one of the years best. Alan Taylor will be giving his take on the inevitable war versus the machines on July 1st.

4. Mad Max: Fury Road
Director George Miller gets the opportunity to continue the franchise he built alongside an amazing cast of Charlize Theron, Nick Hoult, Zoe Kravitz, and Tom Hardy playing titular role as the Road Warrior, Max. With a release date of May 15th it was really hard to only put this movie at #4 and it could ultimately end up even higher.

3. Star Wars: The Force Awakens
J.J. Abrams did such an amazing job on Star Trek, DIsney decided he was right for Episode 7. Not only will we be seeing the return of Mark Hamill (Luke), Carrie Fisher (Leia), and Harrison Ford (Han), but a new generation will be taking up the Jedi mantel. Set to be released December 18th, The Force Awakens should be the perfect Christmas present.

2. Ant-Man
Starring Paul Rudd (Scott Lang) and Michael Douglas (Hank Pym), Ant-man is the movie I see as the potential surprise of the year. Never before seen on the big screen, director Peyton Reed gets a chance to give us an original take on a character with a much bigger role in the Marvel Universe. Releasing July 17th, Ant Man will be a must see if you've kept up with the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

1. Avengers: Age of Ultron
Topping off my list, Avengers: Age of Ulton. Like the first film, Joss Whedon will be directing and will have everyone returning to their respective roles, We'll see the introduction of Scarlett Witch (Elizabeth Olson), Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson), Vision (Paul Bettany), and the villainous Ultron (James Spader), Age of Ultron will kick off phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Releasing May 1st, we'll see the Avengers pushed to limits we've never seen before.

That's my list of what I think are going to be the top movies of 2015. What do you think? Is there anything I missed that you feel should be in the top 10? Maybe one that's overrated and doesn't belong. Comment down below on your top 10 for 2015.

Editor's Note: Normally this article would appear on Tuesdays, but this week it's Wednesday. Nothing more than that. Go about your business. Go on. Shoo.

  2. I agree. Avengers is going to be great, but for this guy right here, Star Wars takes the cake for the year.
